Cold cathode lamps are resistant to flickering, and there is almost no reduction in lifespan due to turning the power ON/OFF. ■ Inactivation Effect Test of the Novel Coronavirus In an in vitro test conducted as commissioned research by Professor Daisuke Hayasaka and Associate Professor Chuu Shimoda from Yamaguchi University’s Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, it was confirmed that irradiating the Delta variant of the novel coronavirus on a petri dish for 5 seconds from a distance of 5 cm inactivated it by over 99.99%. Additionally, under other conditions, it was confirmed that irradiating from a distance of 10 cm for 10 seconds resulted in over 99.94% inactivation, and from a distance of 20 cm for 10 seconds resulted in over 99.44% inactivation of the same virus.
